Small stained glass repair

A lovely little stained glass who's supports failed and shattered one side.

First part of the repair is to take apart the damaged area by scoring the glass even more to remove those pieces. I make a rubbing of the panel onto a paper so that I have a traced pattern. This allows me to make new pieces to the right size and placement. Then I choose glass to match the existing ones to replace the broken pieces.

I then proceed to cut and fit the new pieces. I set them into place to make sure that they are cut properly and fit well.

Finally, each piece is wrapped in copper foil, and then soldered on both sides. Finally, I re-framed it, put in new chain supports, and polished it. Ta da! Just like new. (Better really LOL)
